CABLE
COMPANY
HISTORY :
The Cable Piano Company dates back to 1885 and the name continued under various owners until 1982. One might think that the word Cable had some real significance in the industry given how many other piano manufacturers included the word in their brand name through the years: Cable-Nelson, Conover Cable, Cable & Sons, Hobart M. Cable, Fayette Cable. But there's really no interesting story to report. Maybe with thousands of piano brand names throughout the 1800's and 1900's, they were simply running out of words and needed to start repeating.
