Comments:
Here is an American made piano, in the beautiful satin ebony lacquer finish, similar to premier pianos like Steinway, Knabe, Mason & Hamlin and other historic pianos -- much UNlike the shiny, polyester finishes of today's Asian pianos. It was made in DeKalb, IL, a mere 25 miles from our Geneva location. The cabinet came to us in great shape, but the tuning stability wasn't great. The piano was too charming and in too good of a condition otherwise to let it move on to piano heaven, so we rebuilt it. Yes, rebuilt -- not recontioned. We actually replaced the pin block to the very high standards that we typically reserve for pianos that are exponentially more expensive. We couldn't help ourselves. It had to be done. It now has much BETTER tuning stability than when it was new since our pin block fits better than the original. It is a tremendous little piano with an action that is light, yet even and completely controllable -- a rare combination.
