Steinway Art Case M

We are proud to announce the availability of one of the rarest Steinways that has ever come through our doors. This one-of-a-kind, Art-Case 5' 7" Steinway model M in walnut-stained mahogany was made in 1923, originally came to us the first time in 1997 and is once again available for sale. The case is extremely unique, even by Steinway Art-Case standards. The woodworking is very tasteful and timeless, and the entire piano rests upon the one-piece carriage.

Uncharacteristic for its time, the piano comes with an extra-long, original matching bench, styled to match perfectly. This was very uncommon, as there were countless local woodworkers and options for buyers to make customized benches.

And here is one of the most unique aspects about the piano: In 1997, Steinway was very gracious and forthcoming about the histories of their pianos. If you identified yourself as the owner of a Steinway piano, they would go out of their way to provide you with any and all information and documentation about your particular Steinway serial number. Steinway no longer provides that service, so when we sold the piano many years ago, we framed all the documentation. Those documents go with the piano and they are a fascinating read!
