Why Hardman?  Bear with us here for a moment.

When it comes to affordable brands in today's piano market, it's a very difficult task for consumers to gauge the value of one brand over another.  There are countless brands to choose from, and they're ALL made in China and Indonesia.  The brand names range from the familiar to the obscure, and neither quality nor value have any  relationship to said brand names.  We advise customers who are seeking the lowest-priced pianos to pay close attention to the reputation and longevity of both the dealer AND the distributor of the piano.  Notice we do not say the brand name of the piano.  This is because most of the brand names in the lower price bracket these days are "stencil brands" that bear no resemblance to the products, quality or reputation of the original brand name "stenciled" on the key cover.  For example, a piano with the name "Wurlitzer," ostensibly the well-known American manufacturer of jukeboxes and pianos in the 20th Century, is now manufactured entirely in China.  The Wurlitzer company no longer exists - or rather, it exists in name only!

In this price range, it's most important to 1) buy from a dealer who is going to properly prepare the piano and 2) buy a Chinese/Indonesian brand whose U.S. distributor has a solid reputation.  This is important because the piano industry has seen many dealers AND distributors go out of business in recent years.  When this happens, warranties disappear.  So if you choose a good dealer and a piano brand from a reputable distributor, you'll be off to a great start.

This brings us to the Hardman piano line.
