ABOUT THIS WURLITZER PIANO:

The "Laudau Roof" was the automobile industry's answer to this piano. Parts of the cabinet are "leatherette", other parts are wood. It's not going to win any beauty contests, but it's also immune to drink ring stains! It was made in DeKalb, IL which is less than 30 miles away from our Geneva store.

HISTORY :
Wurlitzer may be known more for its jukeboxes these days, but it was a formidible name in affordable pianos for over a century until they closed their doors in 1985. Baldwin subsequently bought the name and began applying the name to their own pianos and those made in Korea. Most recently, Baldwin had been applying the name onto pianos made in (gulp) China. Yes, a name as American as baseball, hot dogs and apple pie is now proudly "Made in China". Alas, no one can hear (founder) Rudolph Wurlitzer's screams. See "What's with all these old American brand names being resurrected by new companies?"
