ABOUT THIS HC BAY PIANO: Normally
we wouldn’t bother to spend the money necessary to rebuild &
refinish a piano that comes from an obscure maker. This was no exception.
Someone else did it for us before trading it in. J Complete restoration
of a piano like an HC Bay is kind of like overimproving a house for
a neighborhood. You can do it because you love your house, but don’t
expect to get every penny back out of it. Such is the case here. We’re
certain that the previous owner spent way more on restoration than the
piano is selling for now. Such a disparity is your gain if you should
choose to purchase it. It is a very nice piano that plays well and looks
like a refinished antique – perfect for a vintage home in which
a new, shiny black object would scare off visitors and neighboring furniture
alike. |

ABOUT
HC BAY PIANOS: |
One
of thousands of nameless, faceless small town piano companies that made
perfectly good pianos during their heyday. The Bluffton, Indiana company
began in 1911 and made it to the Depression, when they filed bankruptcy
in 1929. They made roughly 23,000 during their eighteen year run. |
